JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Shanghai Pudong is located on the bank of Huangpu River in Shanghai’s dynamic Pudong district and close to Lujiazui central business district. JW Marriott always meets your expectation. I was visiting the hotel during the Valentines Day and made a special request to decorate the room. They made it very special for my wife. Had Balloons, Towel Swan, Rose and Rose Petals. The hotel also has robots to deliver water bottles and anything you might need. So I would say, just pick up the phone and order few water bottles, a cool thing to experience. The rooms were also spacious and everything in the room was modern and on point. Good view of the river also.

Super friendly staff!! They even came to pick me up a few streets away because I was lost and did not know how to reach the place! The place is brand new, super comfy. Bed and pillows were very comfy. I loved the bathroom, well designed with a lock, a private dry area to hang clothes and change and a spacious shower with different types of shower heads and even shower gel & shampoo! The place is super well located, right across the metro station which is close to Jiang Temple (one station away)! Very nice common area with great view from the 18th floor ))

Soothing interiors with pleasant design, comfy and soft bed (another not given in China), clean towels and nice toiletries provided for free. I hope they keep this place fresh and crisp as time goes by. AC was never needed, even when outside was chilly. It is very well insulated. Also my room was facing the street, but I could never hear a peep. Slept like a baby. Staff was nice enough. Hotel manager enquired about how my stay was, In outmost kind manner. Totally recommended. I would be back, absolutely.

Shanghai has really a special touch and feeling. If you were in Paris and New York in the same time. Skyscrapers in the other side of the Bund in Pudong, old houses, hutongs, palaces, residential areas, excellent street food, fantastic tea houses. Use the metro, it's cheap and extensive. Or by foot. Unfortunately it is rather difficult or impossible to rent a bike using the new bike -renting system for a foreigner. Shanghai is much more interesting than Beijing, as its history is completely different the city is also different. In a very positive sens. Less green than Beijing , the only problem is to find really green areas which is still possible in Beijing. Try to find local eateries, and don't miss the Bund, the Yu garden, old Shanghai area, French concession district, take the normal Ferry for 3 jüan to get to Pudong, visit the Shanghai tower with its fastest elevator in the world , drink a longjing in one of the tea houses, and visit Watertown close to the town.
