Positioned along Taohua River, Secret Courtyard Resort Hotel boasts a Chinese-style courtyard and is located in Lujia Village, just 2 km from downtown Guilin. Amazing stay, relaxing resort, the hosts are extremely welcoming and attentive. Thanks a lot once again.

The views are unparalleled and surreal. The lodge staff welcomed us with warmth, friendliness and hospitality. They are professional and we'll informed (and connected) with the local attractions. With their support we were able to attend shows and explore the surroundings. The lodge facilitates excursions such as the traditional light show, renting of scooters, massages, arranging transport and more. The surrounding areas are accessible by scooter and the driving conditions here are safe enough. The lodge is air-conditioned and mostly free of mosquitoes.

The location and the outside appearance of Yangshuo Mountain Retreat almost impossibly beautiful. It is situated a stone’s throw from the Yulong River in a valley that is one of the most magical places I have ever visited. Near-vertical towering karst terrain spires line the valley on either side and tower directly behind the resort itself. The resort provides free bicycles which are better maintained that those that I have found for free in other hotels and there are free helmets and bicycle locks provided. The bike ride up the valley for a mile or so along a wide brick paved path that runs along the banks of the river offers a parade of vertical peaks on either side of the river(there are more extensive bike routes listed online but these involved sharing the road with busy auto and motor scooter traffic and I,for one, did not think the risk of an orthopedic, or head, injury was worth it). The Yulong river valley is lined with small farms and has so many gorgeous plants(from banana trees to rice ready for harvest and local wild flowers), that I chose to walk it several times to appreciate the fine detail one misses when biking. The exterior of the resort itself is very charming with exuberant blooming bougainvillea lining the path and framing the verandas of each room. The interiors and plumbing are somewhat old fashioned but comfortable and clean and the rooms have a small veranda with chairs and a small table looking out onto a stunning bougainvillea-framed view of the river and mountains. The staff were friendly and went out off their way to be helpful. They welcomed us on our first day with a complimentary pot of ginger tea and a little plate of cookies. The ginger tea was so good we went back three times during our stay for a pot of the same tea. The restaurant was cozy and the chinese dishes were good(we did not try their western menu).

Li River Resort is situated on the west bank of Li River and offers a relaxing retreat in Chinese-style accommodation. The room was amazing. Location is great, about 10 minutes walk to the pier. Good food and drinks at good prices

Το Riverside Retreat Hotel βρίσκεται μέσα σε δάση από μπαμπού και αγροτικές γεωργικές εκτάσεις, ενώ έχει θέα στα όμορφα νερά του ποταμού Λι. Best view in whole yangshou. The location makes it quiet and it’s still very close to the city centre. The staff helped us with getting 2 bikes from the hotel for 20 yuan/ person. Quite a good deal for the whole day. We were tired from the bike and couldn’t come back as we wanted to eat and they let us park the bikes in the centre and they got them picked from there. Very convenient and no up charge! If you go in winter you can just ask for more heaters! The air con works as a heater as well. Also as we went in off season they upgraded our room for free!!

Το Guilin Rong Lake Aroma Tea House, πρώην Jing Guan Ming Lou Museum Hotel, βρίσκεται στο κέντρο της πόλης, ακριβώς απέναντι από την περιοχή με τους 2 ποταμούς και τις 4 λίμνες. The hotel has a beautiful interior design, as befits a museum. It so happened that we stayed in three different rooms in the hotel during our stay. All rooms were clean, functional, and very nice. Sympathetic, polite and helpful staff who spoke English. We had no problem leaving our luggage for our one-day trip to Yangchuo. The location of the hotel is right next to the lakes and the park surrounding them. I highly recommend this hotel

The hotel managers recently opened this very nice hotel, and in spite of our late arrival, everybody was extremely helpful, and ready to serve us whatever food they had. Michelle and the rest of the staff made the best of our short visit to Guilin. They helped us organize all of our trips in the region, during a very complicated time (around the Chinese New Year). The hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes away from Guiling Bei (north) Railway station, but it's easy to take a cheap taxi to get there. The room was very comfortable and has a lovely view of the karst mountains of Guilin. From Guilin you can visit Yangshuo and Xingping either by bus or train (the train is much faster and very cheap). I really recommend this hotel to travelers who want to spend some quiet quality time in a delightful little town, surrounded by very nice people.

The main attractions of Lanshan Wangyue Hotel are the outstanding location in a village not too far from the town of Yangshuo, but with a feeling of old rural China and magnificent unobstructed view of the karst peaks in all directions; and the friendly service by the owners, Mark Ma, Li Wu and Siwei, and their hard-working and helpful staff. Additionally, the rooms are commodious and offer full views-- distant mountains from the front, the village and close mountains on the back side. The beds are new and great for sleeping, plus the rooms have good insulation and are very quiet. The proprietors find out what the guests wish to do, and custom arrange and lead excursions into the surrounding countryside. In an area that has lots of tourists (almost all domestic Chinese), they can take guests on bike trips or hikes to places that no one else visits. Ask them to take you on the half hour climb up to the old Qing Dynasty bandits lair in a cave high above the surrounding countryside, or to one of the ancient villages in the area. So much to see and do in the area, with some of the finest scenery in China.
